How to Adopt!

Team FSDA is so thankful for your interest in rescuing!

The first step in our application process is to complete an adoption application. Our adoption application review includes background checks, vet reference checks, social media reviews, and home visits if deemed necessary.

Applications can be approved while also being declined for the specific dog that was applied for. In these cases we will communicate with you regarding why you aren’t a fit for the specific dog, and advise if we have other dogs that we feel may be a better fit. If we have no dogs that would be a good match at the time you apply, we keep all approved applications for review for future dogs.

If your application is approved and we have matched you with a dog, the next step is an in-person meet and greet with you and your current dogs. Like people, not all dogs get along and can live happily and safely together. Our team will have ultimate say during a meet and greet about whether the adoption can proceed.

We are a Florida based rescue and out of state applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
